Our Story of Faith-Based Outreach

In 2016, Renah Kozemchak, then a student at Yough Middle School, felt called to lead her family into a ministry now known as Operation Recovery Compassion (ORC). This journey began after the loss of her uncle and witnessing several family members struggle with addiction.

God led us as a family to step onto the mission field—a battleground where many fear to tread—the “war zone” of addiction.

Our initial mission, Hope in a Bag, was simple yet profound: we donated pre-filled hygiene backpacks paired with God’s Word to individuals in recovery homes. For many who arrived with nothing but the clothes on their backs, these bags offered a glimmer of hope and love during a critical stage of their recovery.

Expanding the Mission: A Community Resource for Recovery. Through our work with men and women in recovery, we realized that recovery takes many forms. It encompasses struggles with mental and physical trauma, addiction, loss, brokenness, and more. As a result, our ministry has grown into Seed, Plant, and Grow, operating through the Farmhouse Ministry, serving Western Pennsylvania and beyond.
